There Are Seasons in the Spirit
Just as there are natural seasons—summer, winter, autumn, spring—so also are there divinely appointed spiritual seasons in every believer’s life. The wise man in Ecclesiastes said:
“To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.”
(Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Let’s begin with this unshakable truth: the Bible is not a storybook. It is not a collection of ancient fables or moral tales—it is the living, breathing Word of God. From Genesis to Revelation, every chapter, every lineage, every name, and every event is a prophetic thread woven to reveal Jesus, the very Word made flesh (John 1:1,14).
There’s something incredibly freeing about letting go of offense. Not in the passive, suppress-it-and-pretend-it-didn’t-happen way, but in the kind of release that places every injustice, every pain, into the hands of the only One who can truly handle it—God.
There’s something about pain that makes us want to react. When someone wounds us deeply, our first instinct is to either fight back or retreat into bitterness. But what if I told you that the greatest power we have is neither revenge nor resentment—but surrender?
Jesus was on His way to Jerusalem when He encountered ten lepers—men who had been cast out from society, forced to live at a distance, separated from their families, their communities, their dreams.
I was at a worship concert—one of those powerful gatherings where heaven feels just a breath away. The presence of God was thick in the atmosphere. People were worshiping, chains were breaking, hearts were surrendering. And I was right there in the middle of it, ministering.
Scripture says:
"When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things."
(1 Corinthians 13:11)
Many times, as believers, we get caught up in the motions of faith.
We want to feel God.
We chase after experiences.
We long for goosebumps in worship, a sudden surge of peace in prayer, or a physical sign that confirms His presence.
But what happens on the days when we don’t feel Him?
Many of us live our lives, even our Christian lives, without truly knowing the One we claim to serve. That’s why we act unruly in church but follow every protocol at work. We submit to human bosses because we see the paycheck, but we take God’s house casually because we don’t see immediate wages.
Obedience is the Lord’s delight. It is His desire that we submit our lives completely to Him, walking in step with His will at every turn. The Bible repeatedly emphasizes that God created us for His pleasure (Revelation 4:11), and He calls us to return that life to Him in total submission. This is not an arbitrary command; rather, it is the key to experiencing true victory and divine partnership in our daily battles.
