The Omnipotent Love of God

Love is not passive; it is active, intentional, and all-encompassing. When someone truly loves you, they throw their entire weight behind you. They ensure that nothing you need is lacking, as long as it is within their power to provide. Yet, despite this truth, we often find ourselves anxious, fretting over life’s uncertainties.

Love is not passive; it is active, intentional, and all-encompassing.

But why?

Scripture declares, “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God” (2 Corinthians 3:5). This means that our adequacy, our competence, and our ability to thrive in any situation come solely from Him. We acknowledge that God is omnipotent—He is all-powerful, without limitation, and capable of doing the impossible. We read of the miraculous parting of the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21-22), the provision of manna in the wilderness (Exodus 16:14-15), and the many victories of the Israelites against overwhelming odds (Joshua 6:20). Yet, when we face personal battles, whether it be a project, an exam, or an unforeseen life challenge, we often lean on our limited strength instead of tapping into God’s limitless power.

Trusting the Track Record of God

When Scripture commands us, “Be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might” (Ephesians 6:10), it is not a mere suggestion; it is an instruction based on the nature of God. God knows that we are frail and insufficient on our own. Yet, He provides His might as an assurance that what we lack, He supplies. He has a verifiable track record of faithfulness, and time and time again, He has proven that He does not fail.

Consider David. He was just a shepherd boy when he faced Goliath. Logically, he had no business going against a seasoned warrior. But David did not rely on his might; he relied on the power of God. “You come to me with a sword and with a spear and with a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord of hosts” (1 Samuel 17:45). And because of that reliance, victory was inevitable.

Living in the Reality of His Omnipotent Love

So, when fear and anxiety creep in, when the enemy whispers doubts and insecurities, can you stand firm in the power of His might? Can you say, “I refuse to fret because I know the One who holds my future?” The truth is, God has never failed, and He certainly will not start with you. In our daily lives, this looks like surrender. It means praying over that difficult task and truly believing God will provide wisdom (James 1:5). It means committing your career, studies, and relationships into His hands, knowing He orders your steps (Proverbs 3:5-6). It means resting in the knowledge that even in trials, His grace is sufficient, and His strength is made perfect in weakness (2 Corinthians 12:9).

As believers, our call is not just to acknowledge God’s omnipotence but to live in it. Non-believers may question, “If God is all-powerful, why do bad things still happen?” But the true power of God is not just in eliminating problems but in sustaining us through them, refining our faith, and proving His love through His omnipotence.

In Conclusion

God’s love is omnipotent, and His omnipotence is rooted in His love. He is not just able; He is willing. He is not just powerful; He is present. If earthly love compels people to give their all for those they cherish, how much more will God, whose love is boundless, ensure that you lack nothing?

So today, choose to rest in the power of His might. Let go of anxiety, embrace faith, and walk in the reality of His omnipotent love
